Unexpected Turn

Friends,

Thanks for your continued prayers for Dad, Mom, and our family. You mean so much to us and it is by God's grace that we are sustained each and every day.

The last few days have been an unexpectd turn for us for sure.

On Monday morning Dad woke up with seizures and vomiting and was taken by squad to the hospital. He has been very calm and relaxed. After meeting with Dr. Cavaliere, it appears that the swelling from his tumor is pushing on both sides of his brain.

Dad will be transported to the Kobacker House (hospice care facility) this afternoon to be in the most comfortable place possible. We are thankful for such nice accomodations for Dad and the entire family.

It is hard to explain what we are all going through, we know that Jesus knows the number of Dad's days but it is still hard to watch the ups and downs.   We are thankful that Dad knows his true home and that this earth is just temporary and passing.

We rejoice in this special time with Dad as a family and pray that each moment will be special.

Thanks for your continued prayers and support.
We love you all.

Sarah

Father God, I just ask you to surround Tom and his entire family with your comfort and peace during this time. Let it guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Hold them close Lord. Carry them through this time Jesus. Fill them with your power Holy Spirit. Let them feel your love. I pray all in the name of our Savior Jesus. Amen.

Sarah,
Although I do not know you personally, your dad was a classmate and teammate of mine in college. He was always an awesome guy and it was a real privilege to have him as a friend back then. My love and respect for your dad naturally overflows to you and your family. I have been praying for your dad and you all for some time now. May God be honored and glorified through what He will do through your dad!

Dear family,

I am so sad to hear about your Dad, and husband. Your Dad was a childhood friend of mine, we went to Colonial Hills together for many years. He was one of my best friends. He always had a smile on his face and was so much fun! I have been keeping up with his condition through my Dad etc. Please know that you are in my prayers through this difficult time! I love the verse you chose for yesterdays post.

Tommy is an old friend from elementary school, I have wonderful and fond memories of him. Now as he is making his way homeward I thank God for his life and testimony...and for the peace that He brings in times of trouble. Family, be encouraged, God's peace and comfort be with you. These days will be the best of times in the midst of the trial; you will lean on the Savior and come to know grace in an all-new way. Love in Christ-

Lisa, Matt, Sarah & Zach,
The Stolls are praying "big-time" for you all. Although we don't know the short-term outcome of this, we know that Tom wins! His impact and ministry here at WC will forever be a legacy to the faithfulness and love of our Lord, Jesus Christ! I was sitting behind you all just this past Sunday and was praising the Lord at how He has continued to use Tom to be a blessing to others. I pray for His presence fill your lives. Psalms 116:1-2 I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
Much love, David

We are praying for all of you. Our hearts break with you as you anticipate a pause in your fellowship with Tom. Praise God that it is only a pause - eternity awaits and he will be more full of life there than you even saw in his full vitality here. - the Troutner family

words fail me.
"But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. But in the same way the way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;"
What love! Thank you Jesus, wrap Your arms around this precious family.

Dear Tom, Lisa and family,
I am praying for you, and your Bryan College family is praying for you- hundreds of them across the globe. You are precious to us and we are praying for strength, peace and courage as you complete this journey. We don't know why God allows such things, but as you know God is faithful and He always proves Himself faithful even through the most terrible of circumstances. You all are loved. May God cover you with His wings and may you find shelter, the warmth of His pressence, and the power of His love.
Continuing to pray. With much love,

Tom, Lisa and family, your story was just passed on to me by the Bryan Alumni Office and I think back to the year I transferred in to Bryan ('83-'84) watching you two (and Steve & Lisa Stewart) fall for each other. It was beautiful to see that same twinkle in your eyes as I watched the video of your journey. May God grant you strength according to His glorious might to shine brightly for His name.
