HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!

Today we celebrated Tom's 49th year!
So many candles, so much smoke!
Tom received over 100+ birthday greetings!  Thank you to everyone who sent cards and gifts.  A surprise gift from Tim Grant Family arrived on our porch step, a treasure chest of goodies from Tom's cousin, David in Colorado, and a gift box of treats from Chris Houts Family.  We certainly enjoyed reading the homemade cards from so many of the elementary classes at WC.  Tom also received several large cards from the students and staff at WCHS.  Kent Homoelle stopped by today with ingredients for root beer floats...sorry Kent...I didn't get your picture.  Tom received many phone calls and texts from family and friends throughout the day.

Tom enjoyed a visit today from several of the WCHS staff with a "Happy Birthday" serenade along with a WCHS hoodie!  We are so grateful to Randy Steckel and Tim Kraynak for their help in getting an extremely heavy desk out of the house.  A "free" sign on the desk didn't get any takers today, so the desk is in our garage if anyone needs a desk...it's FREE, just let me know.

Tonight's Birthday dinner was a Honeybaked Ham from Tom's brother, Tim and his wife, Julie!  What a special treat.  There were 10 of us here to celebrate and enjoy dinner together.  My sister, Kelly, brought fingerling roasted potatoes along with the birthday cake and I made a sweet potato casserole, squash and cooked apples.  It was quite yummy.

Our sister-in-love, Cheryl, went back home today to watch her daughter Morgan in a regional volleyball match in Stow.  What a blessing to have Cheryl here...she is absolutely amazing in what she can accomplish and help with.  She truly was my right hand woman!  Thanks, Cheryl and thank you to my brother, Mike, Morgan and Braden for sharing her with us.
It is very hard to get into a routine around here when every day is different.  This next week will be busy with a full week of therapy, two doctors appointments and the once a week nurse visit.  Please call, text or e-mail me to set up an "appointment" time to visit Tom.  It is very hard for Tom to concentrate on therapy when visitors are here.  Also, if I can be so bold...please do not call or send texts before 9:00 a.m. unless it's an emergency.  We not longer have a land line phone so I keep my cell phone at the bedside for emergency purposes.  Thank you for honoring these wishes.
