Happy New Year...2012

The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in Him.”

Devotional from Janice Barricklow
What a sweet surprise to open the door on New Year's Eve to find Janice with this special gift.  Her heart is breaking for me and she understands completely what I'm going through.  Her husband, Larry, was diagnosed in 2010 with GBM.  Larry is completely healed in the presence of Jesus today.  Janice grieves his absence, but finds comfort in knowing where Larry is.  She understands that their separation is only for a season...she will join him one day.  It is such a comfort to me to know that Janice is a shoulder to cry on and listening ears that understand.
Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Anglea
We rejoice in the marriage of our nephew, Timothy, to Britney on Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Winter Garden, Florida.  We are so sad that we couldn't be there to celebrate such a momentous occasion with them.  It was a beautiful outdoor wedding on an exceptionally beautiful day!  We are so thankful to our niece, Leah, for Skyping the wedding so we could watch and listen.

Our Kline Family Christmas/New Year's Eve tradition was tweaked and altered.  I didn't hear anyone complain except the inner groaning of my heart crying out for "what was"...we pulled it off and we're not too exhausted today like in years past!  On New Year's Eve we (21 of us) enjoyed Der Dutchman buffet in our own private room...not our normal prime rib dinner, but just as filling and WAY easier!  The eight adults came back to our house and the girls played a game while the boys watched TV.  All the children went to my sister's home and enjoyed games together until they rang in the new year.  On Sunday the family (minus Tom, Lisa, Dan & Brittany) gathered at Kelly's for brunch and the children's gift exchange.  We all then regrouped here for our traditional New Year's dinner of pork loin, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, gravy, carrots and bread.  We all continue to wait patiently for Dan and Brittany to call to say "today's the day" Brittany goes into labor...no tax deduction for them in 2011.  We missed them greatly, but anticipate the fun of next year, Lord willing, that a baby will be a part of this family gathering!

It doesn't matter what we have done in the past or how things look in the future...we just enjoy being together!  Thanks to our family for being the BEST...we love you all so much.

Please pray for Tom's stamina this week as it is a busy week of appointments.  Tuesday we meet with the neurosurgeon (9:15 a.m.) and hopefully have the stitches removed.  After that appointment we will take Tom to therapy from 12:15-2:30...he will be worn out after that.  Thursday's appointment is with the neuro-oncologist to see where we go from here and if additional chemotherapy is an option at this point.  Finally on Friday we go back to OSU to meet with the infectious disease doctor and see if the PICC line is doing the trick on the staph infection.  It honestly makes me tired to think about it.  Also, the weather has finally turned WINTER...the high on Tuesday is 25 degrees and the snow is flying today.  Zac has already been out to shovel the walk and driveway!
Last night's wind & snow blowing...
Winter "Officially" Arrived
