Dedication Sunday

This is the very reason Tom and I wanted to travel to Michigan this past weekend...a baby dedication!  What fun we had meeting in Novi, Michigan with 13 other family members to celebrate Dan and Brittany's decision to dedicate Declan and commit themselves to raising him according to God's Word.

"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."

Ephesians 6:4

We left Saturday afternoon and travelled in beautiful weather to "that state up north".  We arrived in time to check into our handicap accessible hotel room for Tom to take a nap before heading to the Magee home for dinner.  It is with great thanks and appreciation to my brother and dad for taking the wheelchair ramp they had made for Tom (from Morgan's graduation party) to the Magee's so that Tom would be able to get into their beautiful new home.  Thanks Dan and Brittany for getting the long boards that Uncle Mike couldn't fit in his camry!

Brittany had prepared for us all a wonderful dinner of ham, potato casserole, green beans and fresh fruit.  How nice it was for us all to gather around the table for fellowship, food, games and anticipate the dedication service.

Sunday morning we gathered at the Lakes Baptist Church where Dan's dad is the pastor.  What a welcome we all had from such a warm congregation of God's people.

Declan's dedication was in the 10:45 service for which we were thankful!

After the Sunday service Dan's family along with Brittany's family in the church's fellowship hall to enjoy Olive Garden salad, breadsticks and lasagna....yummy food and more fellowship.

Last Friday evening my parents came over and we enjoyed grilling out and playing Skipbo on the patio.  After dinner and Skipbo my dad wanted to treat us to Steak-n-Shake milkshakes.  Of course Tom couldn't say no...so we loaded the dog in the back of the car...she is always happier to go with us than stay home alone!

My parents left this morning to head back to Florida.  We are so thankful for the time we had together and all that they did for us while they were here.  We pray for their safe return and praise God for allowing us to be a part of their lives.
